I hate to say it but Kakashi doesn't stand a chance. Pain looks more bad ass every time they have him doing something. I don't really understand what new information the black spikes will be. I think it will be that Pain can animate people with those spikes from afar. But that doesn't sound awesome enough for Pain so I hope I'm wrong. Pain's plan so far has been bad ass along with the soul ripping dude.

Naruto looks like he could destroy Sasuke in a fight now and could go blow for blow against Kakashi. I wonder if Tsunade will give that frog scroll to Naruto and that's the trump cards she hopes to play to win the day. Even if she doesn't, Naruto is about to whip out the wind rasengan to deal with Pain. Also, if you have to be unmoving to use nature chakra, couldn't Naruto just to a clone jutsu and have some doing the adsorbing before poofing out? We know that experiences are conserved, why not chakra adsorbed?

I think at this point both Naruto and Sasuke are better than Kakashi. Kakashi is incredible in his own right, is way more intellihent than either one, but doesn't have that legacy these two have. I'd say it's about time Naruto starts living up to hist father's legendary deeds. Pain's little visit to konoha would certainly be a nice start for a string of epic battles.
Killerbee is badass, really brave to make fools of Akatsuki (and his brother in a way) rather than just squash Sasuke (i'm referring to the previous episode since I haven't commented on it). I certainly want to see him more in future episodes, as I stated when he first appeared!

I wouldn't go so far. Kakashi is still one of the smartest ninjas in this entire anime and remember both Tsunade and Jiraiya said that Kakashi is an obvious choice for the position of Hokage.

I suspect that while Kakashi may not defeat Pain, he's going to showcase fully why he's so highly regarded.

I still think Kakashi, put in the position, could still defeat Sasuke and Naruto. Kakashi is a very powerful and talented shinobi that is as intelligent as they come and has many techniques in his arsenal. He is said to have thousands of techniques. This encounter with Pain may very well be when we truly get to see what Kakashi is made of.

I know Naruto and Sasuke got much stronger, especially Naruto, but I'm totally not convinced they could take out Kakashi yet. Tsunade and Jiraiya said openly that Kakashi was capable of being Hokage for a reason and I suspect this will be the time we find out why they were so confident in him. What has been holding him back has been the sharingan killing his stamina or the mangekyou putting too much strain on his body. I figure he's better equipped to handle them now.

Kakashi can't defeat Pain if J-Man can't. Sure, Kakashi will throw out all of his tricks to beat Pain but his mangekyou isn't suited to close range combat, as far as we've seen, so he'll just use his sharingan. The sharingan's most useful ability is that it can induse forms of hypnotism on its opponent but I suspect that that ability wont work because the bodies of Pain are all dead to begin with or atleast have no "soul" to speak of anymore.

At best Kakashi will "kill" this one body of Pain's but it will revive itself and ultimately defeat Kakashi.

Yea, I know Kakashi isn't better than J-man. I'd be impressed if he managed to kill just this god realm. That's the version of Pain he's up against right now. It's the version of pain that always meets with Akatsuki and summoned the bijuu sealing statue himself earlier in the anime.

The technique that created fake gai, neji, rock lee and ten ten was god realm's technique according to the latest naruto manga databook. The rain that was coming down was also god realm's move.

I highly doubt genjutsu will work against Pain. The only reason I think Jiraiya's genjutsu was so effective is because it was a genjutsu that attacked it's opponent not through eyesight, but through their ears.

I think the advisers were right. It's a mistake to bring Naruto back when they have no idea how to stop Pain and Khona has no idea how strong Naruto has become. It's a very poor decision strategically.

I agree with the advisor's original thoughts. This is the man that killed Jiraiya so it would be insane to think that Naruto, of all people is ready.

Then again, the advisors clearly have no idea how good Naruto can be when he's put in the situation to step up and Tsunade clearly has a lot of faith in him. She really believes he'll become hokage material one day and, in addition to that, she has a desire to see Naruto get the opportunity to live up to Jiraiya's expectations of him and that will never happen if he continues to be treated like some kid.

Emotionally driven decision, but she believes in him.

Pain really couldn't be anymore awesome than he already is. I suspect that God realm won't be sticking around and may very well leave demon realm to fight Kakashi. If God realm plans on staying to take on Kakashi along with Demon realm, then things will be pretty interesting. I suspect that Kishimoto is going to finally show us why Kakashi is as famous as he is and why Tsunade and Jiraiya have little doubt that he could be a hokage.

Remember how Konoha operates? They always first move to remove non-combatants and then they counter-attack in a big way. I think at the end of the chapter a call for the counter-attack has begun.

Tsunade had the slug take a great deal of her chakra to heal tons of people in the village. Danzou will probably try to attack her. Kakashi is pretty badass, but this is far from over and I highly doubt that Demon Realm pain is out of commission.

It's CRAZY that Tsunade can basically heal everyone in the village at the same time! That's some insane healing ability.

What counter attack can Konoha mount when they don't even know how to effectively fight Pain yet? This secret of Pain's better be good.

Yea Tsunade is pretty damn awesome.

Now that I think about it, the Kakashi that fired the lightning dog jutsu was the very same lightning clone that was destroyed in this chapter. Kakashi, ever since being blown away from Pain, has been hiding and gathering his chakra this entire time. Pretty damn impressive that a clone of Kakashi was doing the things that it was doing against Pain just now.

Tsunade will likely find herself in a severely vulnerable state taking care of and healing every single member of the village while ending up engaging in combat herself. That in itself is pretty damn impressive of her. I know she won't disappoint in combat, even with the handicap. She's going to definitely live up to the reputation of a hokage and possibly prove that she was the most powerful among the 3 sannin.

Late as hell, but worth mentioning that the cloud shinobi on their way to konoha are from the very same country and ninja village that requested to have neji's uncle's dead body as payment for their dead ninja.

We all know they got Neji's father. That should end up making for some interesting stuff going forward :)

Naruto keeps getting better and better! Khona is seriously F-ed UP now! That attack was on par with Dedria's death move! I wonder if Tsunade even survived! Naruto is going to loose his collective **** when he hears this. We might just get to see an "unleashed" 9 tails. We've only see up to 5 so far and that was enough to put Big-O on a total defensive. I want to read the next chapter already! HURRY UP FRIDAY!

On a side note, Bleach just seems to be getting smaller and smaller in terms of the amount of story delivered per chapter. Also, is the writer behind D. Gray Man sick or dead?
