Saw the link this morning on IGN forum. When they mentioned teaser, I was like, a trailer teaser? but it was a picture.
I have been reading abit and investigating Shadowrun this day and it seems its like a LOTR+Blade Runner stuff going on. I love it with the high tech gadgets and magic. Reminds me alittlebit of Hellgate London (PC).
Just imagine being a elf with a sniper instead of a bow and a dawrv with a shotgun instead of a hammer. Every ancient melee attack goes high-tech if you choose to do that. Shadowrun is a RPG afterall, I dont care if its FPS or TPS, but usually RPGs have to have TPS view because of how our character looks by clothes and armor and other stuff. So I think its either full out TPS or a mix with FPS.
Besides I dont think Shadowrun is ready for showing stuff on E3, maybe basic concept art but no teasers, unless they are with with text only. But who knows, I am gonna keep an eye out for this one.

I expect to see something at E3 .. Ms would be foolish not to.. even if it is CGI/target footage..

Honestly where did the confirmation that it is an FPS come from? Stop jumping to blamming conclusions based on freaking rumors!!!!
And even if, I would still prefer to play the game before make assumptions as to how good it is.
Besides, wasn't the original, original Shadowrun different from the SNES one? A game playing from First Person Perspective does not automatically make it not an action/adventure game.
Oh yeah, and Jolli, saying that Mass Effects art was... generic... *pain*, well, that is unforgivable. You are now my official internet enemy.

Ok, but you also have to accept numbers 530 to 3,000,530 give or take, because that is how many Bioware fanboys there are.:p

for anyone who as no idea what Shadowrun is all about?
This is taken from Shadwrun third edition and explaind the world much better then I could (without any spelling misstakes too).
So just imagine all this In glorious 3D on your 360 and you'll know why some of us are getting So excited.
The year is 2060. The world is changed. Some say Awakened. The ancient Mayans had said that magic would return to the world in the year 2011, and they were right. A long lull in the mystical energies of the world has subsided. Magic is as real as the mean streets of the mega-sprawls. Elves, dwarves, orks and trolls have assumed their true forms, and creatures of the wild have transformed as well, changing into mythical beasts of legend. Dragons soar in the skies.
The decades that followed the the Awakening were years of panic and turmoil, as the vast world telecommunications network collapsed under an assault by a mysterious computer virus. Epidemics and famine ravaged the world's population. Indian cultures that had never lost touch with their mystical pasts began to use magic against the great nations that had suppressed them for so long. Fear and prejudice ran rampant. All central authority crumbled, and the world began to spiral downward into the Abyss.
But all was not lost. Out of this devastation and chaos, a fragile new social order emerged. Advanced simulated sensorium technology helped eradicate the last vestiges of the computer virus and replaced the old telecommunications network with the virtual reality world of the Matrix. Amerindians, elves, orks and dwarves formed their own nations. Awakened powers began to use incredible magics to heal the earth. Central governments balkanized into smaller nations and city-states. Vast metropolitan sprawls known as megaplexes covered the landscape and swallow whole regions. Police departments, unable to contain waves of crime and civil unrest, were privatized or had their work contracted out to corporations.
Gangs rule the streets; and the forgotten masses grow lacking even a System Identification Number to give them any rights.
Megacorporations have become the new world superpowers, a law unto themselves. The megacorps play a deadly game, paying pawns in the shadows to help them get an edge on the competition.
Flesh and machines have merged- the cybered strett samurai with his smartguns and impossibly fast reflexes, the computer decker who can plug his own brain into the worldwide computer network, the rigger who links his mind to the vehicle and takes hairpin turns at fantastic speeds.
This is your world. You live in these shadows. You are a shadowrunner. You don't just survive in the shadows- you thrive there....for now....

OMG and just to think this is all but 5 years away ..
It's war of the worlds all over again run for your lives...
That''s basically the story but the kind of job classes and races could allow for some really neat job/class/race abilities and job trait mixtures.. I wana be a roller skating cyber punk elf with a grafted canon on my arm...
I just pray they have it as 3rd person, or that it has a 3rd person mode. (even FFXI has first and third person modes)

Jolli it HAS to have third person. How do you capture the world of shadowrun WITHOUT a third person view? It just doesn't seem right.

Never judge a game too harshly via screenshots or videos, because they are in no way capable of properly representing what the game truly looks like were you to see it running in front of you on a 360

Huh? Shadow Run could EASILY be first person IMO--System Shock, Deus Ex..good examples of this sort of thing..but not really cyberpunk..frankly I don't care one way or the other as long as it's freaking good..
There's virtually an uptapped genre here for cyber punk games.
Fans of this sort of theme and FPS should check out http://www.dystopiagame.com --nothing in common with Shadow Run except a common theme..very original mp concept..cool stuff.
Back OT though if I had a choice for this sort of game I would probably vote for a good mix of third person and first..plenty of games let you switch between the two..so why not.
