It's a been a long time since we had some new Project Offset info, but a small teasing site appeared out of nowhere, and seems to offer new stuff for every 1000 unique visitors. A pretty nice idea, and it already gave us this nice new image.
Update: And a second image already!
Update2: Third image!

QUOTE:
October 23, 2006 - Project Update

We've updated our team page with a list of everyone who's working full time on the project.

As you have probably noticed, we've been rather quiet lately but things are going great. We just passed a big milestone for our as-yet-unnanounced publisher. Everyone on the team is extremely motivated to make Project Offset the best game it can be, and we couldn't be happier with the way things are working out. For people that have been begging us to provide some more information, videos, etc., all I can say is that we would love to spill the beans, but we need to be in "stealth mode" for a while until we feel it's time to make our big "second debut".

In other news, we now have a handful of licensees who are using our engine for their next gen projects. Further information will be available upon the official announcement of these games.

Wow awesome.. they are so far along that they are even licensing the engine? Very interesting to say the least.

Can't wait. I nearly died when this became an Xbox 360 exclusive, after not being sure if I'd ever see this game again. Any news is good news, unless its bad news...

Indeed if it is exclusuive we can all safely bet it was MS who got them.

I am pretty confident it will be MS, if they didn't they need shooting.

Well we know its a 360 game at least, whether it is exclusive remains to be seen. Very strange situations with this and Mercs 2 with unannounced publsihers.

I highly doubt this is a 360 exclusive. I mean, they built the engine for the PC.

They've licensed their engine like months ago to MMO team. I believe it was same team who did EVE.

Indeed. The most 360 will get is a port of the game.

My old roomate got a job offer from Offset team. Basically they're contracting out work to people with a nice little up-front money. He said he didn't know who publisher was though. But was sent source code and told what he needed to do.

Hopefully he continues to work for them seeing as how Offset team has alot going for them. Atleast, I think so at this point anyways. He was offered a big salary job from a non-gaming programming company at same time. So it's a big choice for him and one faced by many programmers. Go with an up and coming game company(What you always wanted/worked to do) or go with a govt. job that will offer $$$(Would pay off those student loans) but nothing game industry related/experience wise.

What would you do? :) PO team if it was me despite the less pay.

It would be a PC/Xbox360 deal in that case, I think. It seems unlikely that they will take something previously PC based and make it console exclusive. Halo was an exception because at the time they didn't have any games on thier platform and didn't have the whole Games for Windows initiative.
