The first 10 minutes: [eM] -eNCHANT arM- part 3

A lot of people asked me to do another video of [eM] -eNCHANT arM-, so here it is. This shows what happens before the fight with the Queen of Ice: Room geometry changing in a real time cinematics, buying a new Golem, and fight against a rather big boss.

Thanks for the vid! If this game (and Blue dragon, lost oddysee) doesn't make it to the US that's going to suck big time!!!

the environments at least look amazing. Great architecture. I do like what they have done with the in-game graphics in the cutscenes and could be a good refreshing Jap RPG with the grid system. Plus you can actually have a camera behind you which has been omitted from great RPGs for a very long time.

I swear to you if I even feel someone behind me ther's no measure to how fast I will bring this fight to your doorstep.

Infinium this is but an early part of the game and so far it looks pretty damn impressive. The way the spells look right now is also impressive, but we again need to remember if everything looks like this now imagine what the more higher level spells will look like later on or during the middle parts of the game.
What do you find average especially in this video? The boss? The look of the battle system? The way the environment was changing in realtime? I don't know man, but so far this game is very impressive. (It even took final fantasy VII awhile before it REALLY started to get going). What don't you like about the game?
I don't see much wrong with it currently. Not arguing much really since you are entitled to your opinion, but what don't you like about the game?

Late December, a credible Web site close to Microsoft revealed that Enchant Arm will be coming to USA VERY soon. By then the localization had been well under way, said the source. February/March looks totally feasible given that statement.

Why is it that all of the characters seem homosexual? The one playing the saxaphone weapon especially.
I really don't understand how people would want to play this game. It looks really dull, the voice acting is just plain bad and gameplay seems very basic. Don't get me wrong the game looks nice enough but there are so many negatives to outweigh nice graphics.

All the characters don't seem homosexual at all and no the voice acting isn't terrible lol. Have you ever seen a japanese anime this is how they talk.. Anime fans will be all over a game like this.

I reckon we will see EM a lot sooner than people think, like the guy above said it makes sense that the localisation started a while back when the game was still in production.
This has been one of my most anticapated games for the 360 for a while now, only over shadowed by Blue Dragon.
Totally agree with wuffyx people are expecting too much too soon.
Not ever title is going to be a killer title.
You can't really assume a game is avergae by looking at it, especially regarding RPG's.

What's this edit button you speak of? =P
[edit]
it's a button used to edit your post instead of making a new post.
You have approximately 5 minutes to edit each post, and it helps keep thread lengths down.
(exceptions would be a new idea which warrants a new post, or replys to posts made after yours, adding to a progressive conversation, etc.)
I've seen people make 6 consecutive posts within 2 minutes, and it can easily be considered as spamming the boards.
(I know, you were just being a smartass^)

Very nice explanation for the edit button :)

1up did a lengthy hands on with enchant arm and alot of people should be please with what is said with a couple exceptions.
Its good to note that they REALLY like the gameplay and find it extremely fun, but can't avoid certain criticisms which I agree with. More time put into this game's conversation cut scenes instead of the character showing up above text voice acting and the games outer environments adding such things as as wind blowing trees or grass moving when player steps on it would help the "next-gen" experience and this game would easily be 9.3 worthy on any site.
They mention about when you're outside it feels as if you are in a 3D painting (lifeless environment) I've noticed that as well from videos as well so I'd say thats a good criticism, and that this rpg appears to be sort of like a really good introduction to japanese rpgs (Does a damn good job too in my opinion). They mention how they don't like that there aren't too many animations aka the voice conversations if they are crying, mad or happy it wont show much and the syncing of the lip movement isn't always flawless.
They mention how you are able to organize your party with over 100+ characters from human characters to golems mostly golems. They mention the really nice balancing system in place in the game called vitality points balances things and prevents players from finding the strongest golems then forever sticking with only those characters. VP goes down after taking damage in battle which encourages mixing things up. Taking damage in battle causes VP to go down and once VP reach zero, the character/golem will start each battle with 1HP and 1EP...rendering them useless. There are also areas to recharge vp.
Another balance method to avoid people ignoring human charactes and going all golem.
"With golems in every shape and elemental, one might wonder what's the point of using human team members? Well, there are two bonuses that humans get to encourage their usage. One is that they have EX attacks, which are the huge flashy summon spells of the game. In battle there is an EX bar that fills up as both teams attack. When the EX bar reaches a certain point, human players can unleash ultra-powerful EX attacks that devastate the playing field. In addition, the second advantage is that humans can buy or find new skills and weapons. These two systems keep the human characters up to strength with their golem counterparts and ensure that the player won't be sticking to all golem parties."
In other words I think from really has a hit on their hands here, but they need to improve the outside environments so it meets the next gen expectations and do some actual ingame rpg-like cutscenes where you see players standing around and talking to each other properly as opposed to seeing the 3D models appear above the text and naturally add another cool storyline to the game as well as all the expected upgrades to a sequel such as more amazing special abilities, more golems etc. I think this game could be a huge hit for the 360 if they continue with it and next time do it how it should've been done the first time around.
If they are intent on another enchant arm (why wouldn't they be they did a damn good job) then the game is seriously going to be amazing.

Any major story cut scene is acted out with real time cut scenes for the most part (and a few realtime cutscenes too). All they did was instead of making all speech just writing they made most speech in the game be acted out with voices, which I think is pretty cool.

1 point about the edit button, you can't always edit because of the time limit.
And making 2 seperate points in the same post can be confusing at times.
Saying use the Edit feature is basically spamming anyways, i don't see what the big deal is.
