Fight Night Round 3 video
2006-01-18 13:48:57 by Manager
EA just released this video, presenting some of the features in EA Sports Fight Night Round 3. The vid is commented by one of the developers, and as usual, it looks really really cool. And is it just me, or does the game already look better than in the demo?
Update: Added 10 new images, four of them in 720p.
The trailer is for Europe, which means that the game hits the European stores 23rd of February.

I like the sound of those impact punches, though surely that's just the easiest thing to do and you'll just do em all the time.. ? Maybe you have to build up a meter or something, but i dislike that also in a game.. Anyways, it's looking great and can't wait to play it. If i could only get my hands on a 360.

i think you'll see that it isn't really easy to pull of the power punches.. Especially if your playing against someone with any skill.

Yall should be thanking EA Chicago, they are on top of the Next Gen thing, they also are making the new Def Jam Vendetta game that looks just as amazing as this game. EA Tiburon(the people who make Madden) simply dropped the ball on their end. Same with the department that makes NBA Live which i think is EA Canada. This game is shaping up to be a great game no doubt.

I'm impressed with it as an engine, Renderware was always good, but never THAT good.

Apparently rendware was used on the incredibles movie as well as san andreas sonic heroes, burnout 3 takedown and call of duty finest hour.

Just goes to show, the engine is only as good as the developers using it.
Although, we've seen more extreme examples of this on "other" engines.
At least the EA games I'm interested in are in good hands ;)

Yeah, IMO the current renderware is crap but this new on is all kinds of sexy. MAybe it is the same engine but the last systems couldn't handle it. Eitherway it looks awesome here.

I think RenderMAN is what was used on The Incredibles as that is Pixars own 3D software

Boxing games defo not the way forward, cant even produce a fireball, what that all about? Imagine this level of connection and animation ala soul calibre or tekken!(admitadly neither have firballs either!)
Blim is there any new Oblivion pix knocking about? Or Prey ? They seem to be releasing recycled ones at the moment of npcs (the skeltons).

Renderware is an off the shelf graphics engine bit like the unreal ones and is devleopd by criterion, they started amking about the time of burnout one and utilised it to make effective ports of that to gamecube adn xbox. See burout revenge on the ps2 to see how they mede that really sing.Criterion really got the skill and the EA behemoth have hreally got a winner by buying the company, though bizarrly burnout 360 so far looks rather mediocre past the paint stripping texture gimmick.

Maxis, Origin, Bullfrog, Digital Illusions, etc...EA knows who to buy, that's for sure.
Only Maxis and DICE still stand strong out of the devs. I just named--so lets hope they continue to keep Criterion and DICE healthy.

defo, both developers seem to have pretty robust 'personalities' so in terms of integirty they will continue. hopefully EA trax is the only major, albeit awful, change that the move to EA will catalyse.
As long as EA still get major sucess with their franchises they will prob not mess too much.

I played the FNR3 Demo and I concluded that realistic boxing is not my thing. Give me next-gen Ready to Rumble. I may pick this up when it hits $19.99. There are some screen of a "white" boxer on Gamespot.

When EA presented the tech demo of Fight Night Round3 at E3 for the Playstation3, many people thought that the graphics weren't feasible. Now here we are 7 months later and the tech demo pales in comparison to the Xbox360's actual gameplay and graphics. Let's face it. We all know that every tech demo that Sony showed at E3 was created on hardware that was not PS3 technology, but the graphics are already becoming a reality. So far only the 360 has proven it. I'm sure the PS3 will also. But now I am curious. It seems like the Xbox360 games have been making major improvements overnight. So why hasn't Sony given the consumers a game sample. Their supposed E3 demos, visually looked more complete than any Xbox360 game at that time. That means that we should have seen a gameplay demo months before the 360 even launched. Does it really take this long to develop a PS3 game as developers constantly reiterated. I purchase an average of 10 games a year. So far we can't cut the Resident Evil5 cake because Sony hasn't showed up for the party. I hope it's not stale by then.
