Microsoft is a company known for not abandoning when they have a goal, so it's no real surprise to discover this brand new TV ad for the Xbox 360 featuring Blue Dragon, Final Fantasy XI, Lost Planet and Biohazard 5. Very nicely done too.

Neat commercial. Speaking of Blue Dragon, that playable demo should be arriving soon. As for Lost Odyssey and the other Sakaguchi titles . . . I don't see how any RPG'er can resist the 360.

Looks pretty good.
IMHO, they should have gotten a JPOP song there and had a female Japanese voice say the stuff at the end.
If Microsoft wants to win in Japan, they ought to start looking for a female Japanese model or a cute anime icon (SD Anime Master Chief) or something like that.
The Japanese are very good players and I hope more of them come to the XBOX 360.

Japanese games rule. It's a shame Japan isn't showing the 360 love. It would be quite interesting to see how well the 360 does in other Asian countries. Who knows, maybe Japan won't be relevant any longer when Chine and Korea jump on the MicroSoft band wagon.

I'm surprised how many ignorant people there are saying who cares about japan, if it wasn't for japanese games console gaming would have died out long ago.
Without Japanese support 360 won't have a chance in climbing the ladder to number 1.

Regardless of whether you like JP games or not (I don't) they are an important, massive part of the market. This commercial though... is very different than the commercials normally aired in Japan. Japanese game commercials tend to have a lot more 'talking' in them, and less of fancy, 3D, flying cube, special effects stuff. I would put money on my guess that this commercial was produced in the good ol' US of A.

Showing the an xbox 360 that large isn't the best move. The japanese seem to like small consoles due to the smaller size of appartments in tokyo. Sshowing a 360 that large just makes them see it as a very large console which is apparently one of the reasons why the Xbox 1 didn't sell well there.

I had an xbox but was thoroughly dissapointed with the RPGS, Fable and star wars knights of the republic was dissapointing and made me crave japaneese influenced rpgs even more.
Ps2 satisfied that hunger with final fantasy, shadow hearts 2 and 3, kingdom hearts, dragon quest 8, magna carta, digital devil, .hack/ series, and in the future, phantasy star online kingdom hearts 2 , final fantasy 12..
Point is, ps2's strength are the rpgs..and japaneese people as well as americans/europeans love em. Fable was a dissapointment, turned me off from western rpgs.
Now seeing cry on,enchanted arm!, mistwalker, blue dragon, lost oddyssey, and other japaneese games such as nighty nine nights truely is shinning, even has squareenix's support.. This is great and the best news is..xbox360 isn't even a year old.. keep this up and expect japan to fall on their knees to the big Green

And to people who think japan isn't important..it's like saying your mother isn't important.
Japan is the birthplace of video games and some of the worlds greatest video game masterminds, hideo kojima..just an example.
If xbox360 can crack it..japan will embrace the console..and show it with games..which overall means more amazing games for you and me to play..i mean amazing games with some of the worlds most awesome character designs, storylines and music.
That's why japan is important..all the western market is stuck up with are FPS, and war based games..pfft.
