99 nights: Video of the demo
2006-02-28 08:45:26 by BlimBlim
The demo of Ninety Nine Nights is now already available in some japanese shops, so as expected a few new videos are already available. Unfortunately there is nothing really new to see since this is only the TGS demo. Better quality video will be available once I get the demo, within a week hopefully.

in this vid you can see the frame rate drop when throwing several dozens of enemies into the air.
can someone who played this demo tell, if this frame rate drop is caused by the vid-compression, or if it's in the demo?

Wahey, that was combo crazy!
I just hope it don't get too repetetive?
how anyone got to 82,000 max combo in your pevious scans I'll never know.
A very promising game though, and different to anything else we have.

i think part of the slowdown is the video, because it's not the same as the TGS demo, although it looks very similar. if you watch the other video where the guy plays it and it shows the controller you won't see the framerate drops there. you can also see how they changed the HUD a tiny bit and such.

So, is it just hack'n'slash or is there some other gameplay elements we have yet to see. Whilst visually stunning (framrate aside) it could get very boring very quickly.

Well if you liked the Dynasty Warriors/Kingdom Under Fire series you'll enjoy this.

It's either your type of game or not. If you like hack-n-slash games you should love this if not there should be plenty of other games avaliable by the time this is released. It's like seeing a video for CoD 2 and saying "All's you do is shoot stuff?" give me a break.
The video is way to small, and when you expand it, it becomes to pixilated to make out any of the detail. Hopefully we will see a higher res version in the coming weeks.

Um, sorry but looks like a bad knockoff of Dynasty Warriors.
Just my opinion.

interesting but I'll echo some of the concerns of the other posters, the gameplay looks like it could get repetitive really quickly. The AI doesn't look a whole lot more intelligent than the rocks that were used to run them over either.
Anyway, by the sounds of things the demo is ancient and hopefully they will have improved things a bit since the build of this code.

Does anyone know at what point in the game (early/middle/late) this mission occurs?

I doubt it'll be too repetitive as its in a way similar to god of war except more characters are involved and this game also relys heavily on its story. Thats one way of looking at this game. WE KNOW ITS STORY DRIVEN and we have yet to truly see what the characters themselves will be fully capable of and what types of missions you'll end up taking on.
Keep in mind have we once seen a character during gameplay BEYOND level 6?
Assuming the character was level 5 in the demo I'm guessing its extremely early and this doesn't look like anything new from tgs as blim said the game has surely progressed beyond this point since then. The AI I also noticed wasn't as aggressive as they should be, but I'm sure that will probably change with the final version of this game which is still quite a ways off.

Imagine how intense the action will be when your like level 20+ in this game??? Imagine what that super speed move she does will be like at level 30. Or that special attack where she can kill thousands at a time? As you go along the fights not only have to get harder, but you have to be more equipped to deal with them so if the developers go as far with the game in terms of combat abilitiies and the story then this game is a killer app waiting to happen.
For all we know the characters could have a whole host of abilities and spells that'll keep it from becoming repetetive.
I strongly doubt anyway that with 10 different companies working on this game that they'd allow it to be so simplistic in nature.
Nice I'll be checking out that burnout trailer.
